Mauro Fernández es un Director de Fotografía nacido en Uruguay. Estudió Cinematografía en Maine Media Workshops y realizó un MFA en Filmmaking en NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Su vida y su trabajo lo han llevado a vivir en distintos países y culturas, experiencias que han moldeado su aproximación a la cinematografía, basada en el naturalismo, el movimiento y la relación entre las personas y los mundos que habitan. Paralelamente a su trabajo como director de fotografía, Mauro ha escrito y dirigido varios cortometrajes y actualmente se encuentra desarrollando su primer largometraje, El Hermano Mayor.
Ha sido distinguido con la Theatrical Teamsters Scholarship, una beca de NYU Grad Film y la Willard T. C. Johnson Fellowship.

His approach to cinematography is rooted in naturalism, movement and the relationship between people and the worlds around them. Alongside his work as a cinematographer, Mauro has written and directed several short films and is currently developing his first feature film, El Hermano Mayor.
